Armstrong County's best Environmental Learning Center
The Crooked Creek Environmental Learning Center is a multi-use facility operated under the auspices of the Armstrong Center for Community Learning and is available year-round to organized groups and businesses for environmental education, workshops, meetings, or retreats.
Inside the Learning Center main building, we have an impressive display of mounted mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish. Please note that NO animals were killed for the sole purpose of display at the Environmental Learning Center.
Field trips to the Environmental Learning Center cover topics including: water quality lessons, nature walks, tree and flower identification, and Geocaching. The park spans 31 acres and access to Crooked Creek, and offers a self-interpretive trail, a poetry trail, an herb garden, and we are planning a handicapped accessible trail soon!
The walking trails and self-guided tours are available any time. Organized groups may rent the Environmental Learning Center facilities for programs, workshops, meetings and retreats. Facilities include a multi-purpose room with kitchen, a dormitory, and a lodge-style great room. Restrictions on the type of activities apply.
