Awakening to the Wonders of Nature: Mysteries of Trees

This study circle event on April 21st at 6:30pm at the Outdoor Discovery Center (ODC) at Crooked Creek, is the first in a series of three monthly, 1.5-hour sessions, each centered around a finely written work about nature. Each session in the series will include reading a relevant and engaging book, and having a chance to come to a group study circle at the Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek (ODC) for discussion and fun activities as a group.

For this first event, we will be reading Peter Wohlleben’s international best seller book, The Hidden Life of Trees, which reveals trees’ secrets in a beautiful way based on the author’s observations in a lifetime closely connected with the forest. Upon registering, participants will receive a copy of the book, have a chance to read it at home, and then join an in-person study circle discussion at the ODC on April 21st, 6:30pm – 8:00pm. We’ll discuss impressions of the book, explore the edge of the local woodland outdoors at the ODC, enjoy snacks and refreshments, and each participant will receive a Persimmon Tree seedling to take home after the class. The price includes the book, handouts, the discussion experience, refreshments, and a live Persimmon Tree seedling for taking home.

Join this study circle and make wonderful discoveries about the trees around us!
