Immediate Job Opportunity – Part-time Test Examiner
The Armstrong Center for Community Learning (ACCL) is accepting applications for a part-time Test Examiner for its test center, located at 104 Armstrong Street, Suite A, Ford City, PA. The ACCL administers certification and licensure exams to adults through Pearson VUE and other testing partners. The Test Examiner will admit examinees using computer software, review exam requirements with examinees, login examinees to computers in the testing room, proctor examinees, and check out examinees before they depart the test center. Test Examiner will work one, two or three weekday evenings per week and/or Saturdays, up to 12 hours per week. More than one part-time Test Examiner may be hired to provide coverage during evenings and Saturdays.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Be professional and courteous at all times
- Create a comfortable and pleasant environment for examinees
- Follow the examinee check-in steps specified on the computer
- Verify that examinee take the intended exam. Sometimes examinees register for the wrong exam
- Remember a user ID and password for the computer testing applications
- Keep all examinee and exam information confidential
- Maintain order and quiet in the testing room
- Monitor every examinee during every testing session, for the entire testing session
- Proctor up to 10 certification and licensure exams for adults at any given time
- Follow the examinee check-out steps specified on the computer
- Report all incidents by creating a case
- Respond to cases when necessary
- Open and close ACCL test center as scheduled
- General office duties, as needed
- Create and update seating charts using Microsoft Excel
- Perform additional related duties as needed and as directed by the Executive Director
Personal Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
- High level of energy, creativity, and initiative
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills
- Ability to lift approximately 15-20 pounds
Professional Qualifications
- At least two years of customer service experience or an Associate Degree
- Knowledge of office equipment and procedures
- Computer experience required
- ACCL Executive Director and ACCL Office Manager will train candidate.
Terms of Employment – Wage will be between $10.50/hour to $12.50/hour. This is a limited term, grant funded part-time (up to 12 hours per week) position through June 30, 2025. Continued employment beyond June 30, 2025 is contingent on continued funding for this position. No benefits offered. Background clearances may be required.
